Our Story

Premier shooting since 2005

Manchester Clay Shooting is the North West's premier clay shooting club, located in the picturesque Botany Bay Woods in Eccles. Set in 400 acres of woodland, we offer an unrivalled shooting experience just 20 minutes from Manchester city centre and 45 minutes from Leeds and Liverpool.

With a refurbished clubhouse, brand new corporate room, and outdoor pavilion, we cater for everything from CPSA registered competitive shoots to corporate entertainment, stag and hen parties, and complete beginner sessions.

The Ground

Botany Bay Woods

Set within 400 acres of stunning woodland, our shooting ground offers one of the most atmospheric and varied shooting experiences in the North West. The natural terrain of Botany Bay Woods provides challenging and realistic target presentations through mature woodland and open clearings.

The layout makes full use of the natural landscape — driven birds through the canopy, crossers over clearings, and rabbits along the woodland floor. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or picking up a shotgun for the first time, the setting is second to none.

First Visit

What to Expect

Arrive & Register
Head to the clubhouse on arrival. Sign in, grab a coffee, and collect your card. First-timers will get a full safety briefing before heading out.

Catering
On-site catering ranges from light snacks and hot drinks to full gourmet meals for corporate and group events. Fuel up before you shoot.

Shoot
Head out into the woods. 400 acres of varied terrain with challenging target presentations. Squads rotate through the layout at a relaxed pace.

Results & Prizes
Scores tallied and results announced same day. Class prizes, high gun, and results published on Clay Ledger for you to track your progress.
